    I stay at Chimneys almost every other week. Staying away from home and family is not easy. Over the years I have stayed in luxury hotels across Europe and do you know I have never felt as settled in a room as at Chinmeys. Yes it is old fashioned, yes the furniture is old. It is like my grandmothers house, even the climb up the steps to the front door. There is a genuine welcome each time I stay - just enough to say hi are you well - but not soo much that you feel that you have to give your entire life story. The rooms are clean and warm in winter, and views from rooms at the back of the house across the Blackburn skyline at night - although not Paris are spectacular. Breakfast is wholesome, and the curved sausages make me smile - the owners even noticed that I never eat the half tomatos. Not that I do not like them - I always seem to splash my shirt when I try and eat them!
